Al Gore grew up in two worlds: in Washington, D.C., where his father was a U.S. senator, and on a Tennessee farm. As an adult, Gore followed his father into politics, serving as a senator, then as vice president of the United States, and finally as the Democratic contender in a 2000 presidential bid. All the while, he made technology and the environment his primary causes.
