This study examined different models of predicting adjustment in adolescent cancer survivors. In particular, the study sought to clarify the role of child factors, including personality, appraisal, and coping, in predicting self-esteem and psychological distress while controlling for more established predictors, such as disease, family, and support variables. Dr. Michael Papsdorf obtained his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of British Columbia in 2004. Since then, he has continued to publish scholarly articles in pediatric and community mental health. He also maintains an active clinical practice in North Vancouver, BC, Canada.
