This lead to a biography of his birth and early years and was documented in a booklet called The Life and Times of Eddie Smith, published by Anne Bradford of Hunt End Books. This true account of his life follows on from where, at the age of 16, he joined HM Forces, at which point a series of events--unintended and mostly humorous--gave the impression that he could be a security risk.
